Incentives

We are delighted that you are interested in relocating to Greater New Orleans area.

Our area is an attractive destination for Jews today for a myriad of reasons including:

• The diverse heritage of the people of the area make this city unique, interesting and alive with music, culture, architecture, customs and traditions.

• The opportunity to be a part of shaping history by taking an active role in rebuilding the city and the Jewish community.

• Our extensive Jewish infrastructure and a rich Jewish life provides possibilities for Jews from all walks of life.

To make the transition easier for you, the Jewish Federation of New Orleans has designed a Newcomers’ Incentive Program, administered by Jewish Family Services.  Some of the incentives being offered include:

• Moving grant of up to $3,000*
• Either Housing or Business Loan of up to $15,000*
• Rental grant of up to $2,500*
• Discounted tuition fees at the New Orleans Jewish Day School
• Complimentary one-year JCC Silver-level membership or equivalent discount off Gold membership offered by JCC
• Complimentary one-year membership offered by area synagogues
•Complimentary one-year National Council of Jewish Women and Hadassah membership offered by organizations
•Complimentary memberships offered by JDate and JRetro Match

Please note that there is no automatic entitlement to these benefits. Compensation is dependent upon our availability of funds and applicant's eligibility, to be decided on a case by case basis by a committee under the auspices of the Jewish Family Service. Eligibility requirements include but are not limited to: a commitment to live in the New Orleans area; proof of residency in Greater New Orleans, membership in a local synagogue or temple; and full time employment.

Initial inquiries regarding the Newcomers’ Program should be forwarded to Jennifer Samuels at Jennifer@jewishnola.com

For more information about special programs for Modern Orthodox families, please contact Beth Israel’s Rabbi Uri Topolosky at rabbi@bethisraelnola.com
